Being a student leader is a great way to prove you can lead by example and inspire others to want to achieve great things because they see you doing it yourself. It's also an opportunity for personal growth and to learn from the ones you are leading as well. My favorite part about leading and supporting other students is seeing the growth they have throughout our time together. It means a lot even if just one person gains something from how I lead them.

As a Career Fellow, I’ve reviewed countless résumés and LinkedIn profiles, ranging from polished to those still in progress. Through this role, I discovered how much I enjoy working directly with people: listening, advising, and helping them grow. Leadership is about supporting others while developing skills that will serve you for the rest of your career. You’ll grow as a person, and the impact you make on your community will be worth it.

 

Paid Roles

  • Campus Ambassadors

    Overview:

    As a CodePath Student Ambassador, you’ll be the face of CodePath on your campus — recruiting peers, building excitement, and connecting students to career-changing opportunities. You’ll work closely with our Student Growth team to grow awareness and build community through events, club outreach, and peer connections.

    Application Details:

    Applications open each summer for the academic year. Join our interest list to be the first to know when recruitment opens.

    Time Commitment:

    • Fall & Spring Semester (academic year)

    • 4 hours a week

    Eligibility:

    • Currently enrolled at a CodePath partner university

    • Passionate about helping peers succeed in tech

    • Strong campus presence (clubs, orgs, or peer networks)

    • Comfortable with public speaking and leading events

    Responsibilities:

    • Recruit students into CodePath courses and programs

    • Host tabling events, info sessions, and outreach campaigns

    • Attend local tech events, hackathons, or campus gatherings

    • Build relationships with student org leaders

    • Serve as the CodePath point-of-contact at your school

    • Join remote and in-person check-ins with CodePath staff

    What You’ll Gain:

    • Paid leadership experience with national visibility

    • Public speaking, marketing, and event planning skills

    • Direct collaboration with CodePath’s Student Growth team

    • The chance to shape campus culture and help peers level up

  • Career Fellows

    Overview:CodePath’s Career Fellows support accessible and supportive peer-led career coaching for the Career Center team. Career Fellows serve as an integral part of the Career Center team providing direct student support, feedback, and resource development.

    Application Details:This position follows an academic year term starting Summer through the following Spring. Application will open on 2/2/26.

    Time Commitment:

    • 8-10 hours every week

    Eligibility:

    • 18+ years old

    • Completed a CodePath course or previously served as a TF

    • Currently pursuing or completed a CS-related degree

    • Authorized to work in the U.S. (Not CPT/OPT eligible)

    Responsibilities:

    • Own asynchronous career artifact reviews for the CodePath community

    • Respond to Slack community questions in Career Center channels

    • Represent CodePath at career-related events and workshops

    • Provide feedback on Career Center tools and programs

    • Contribute to the development of new career resources

    • Expertise on job search and career development

    • An opportunity to have a direct impact on CodePath student career readiness 

  • CodePath in Residence (CIR) Tech Fellows

    Overview:
    As a CodePath in Residence (CIR) CS1 Tech Fellow, you’ll provide in-person support for students enrolled in introductory computer science courses at partner universities. You’ll assist instructors, mentor peers, and help shape a collaborative and supportive learning environment on campus.

    Application Details:

    • Apply during the summer for the fall semester

    • Selection includes application review and completion of required pre-work

    Time Commitment:

    • 10 hrs/week (part-time)

    • Duration: 4 months (Mid-August – Mid-December)

    Eligibility:

    • 18+ years old

    • Currently studying or have completed a CS-related degree at one of the 18 partner institutions

    • Completed CS1 with an A or A+

    • Authorized to work in the U.S. (not CPT/OPT eligible, with some school exceptions)

    • Able to complete admission process: form + pre-work task

    • Preferred: Sophomore or above, completed Data Structures with an A or A+, strong communication and collaboration skills

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide course and student support during CS1 classes

    • Assist instructors with instruction, grading, and student engagement

    • Meet with students weekly to answer questions and offer guidance

    • Foster collaboration and help students gain confidence in technical concepts

    • Participate in pre-course preparation and ongoing training

    • Hands-on involvement in shaping CS1 learning experiences

    • Stronger technical foundation through teaching and mentoring

  • CodePath Tech Exchange (CTEx) Tech Fellows

    Overview:

    CTEx Tech Fellows help deliver CodePath’s flagship courses across 18 university partners. You’ll provide personalized support to students, assist instructors, and contribute to the success of technical courses like Algorithm & System Design, Careers in Tech, and Intro to Software Engineering.

    Time Commitment:

    • 8-10 hours per week, mainly remote.

    • Training: Dec 1st - 15th

    • Program run: Jan 13th - May 1st 2026

    Eligibility:

    • Junior or above CS (or related field) major
    • Currently enrolled at one of the 18 CTEx partner universities
    • Completed CS1, CS2, and Data Structures (or equivalent)

    Responsibilities:

    • Support instructors during lectures, labs, and office hours
    • Grade assignments and provide technical feedback
    • Offer 1:1 and group support to students
    • Help foster a positive, inclusive learning environment

    What You’ll Gain:

    • Paid technical education and mentorship experience
    • Deeper understanding of CS core concepts
    • A strong resume boost and connection to the CodePath community

  • E3 Tech Fellows

    Overview:

    Earn academic and professional experience while helping deliver CodePath courses for credit. As a Tech Fellow, you’ll assist instructors, support students, and help shape a positive classroom experience—either on campus or virtually.

    Application Details:

    • Apply for Fall, Spring, or Summer
    • Program begins 1–2 weeks before classes start and ends 1 week after final exams

    E3 University Partners: 

    Georgia State University and Perimeter College in Atlanta, University of North Carolina Charlotte and Johnson C. Smith University in North Carolina, as well as Florida International University and Miami Dade College in Miami.

    Time Commitment:

    • ~10 hrs/week
    • Paid position (Remote: $19.18/hr, In-Person: $22/hr)
    • Fall (Mid-Aug–Late Nov)
    • Spring (Jan–Early May)
    • Summer (Late May–July)

    Note: Dates vary by institution

    Eligibility:

    • Student at participating E3 University
    • Completed a CodePath course
    • Majoring in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems
    • Authorized to work in the U.S.
    • Available during course meeting times
    • Confident in course content topics
    • Willing and eager to engage with students in and out of class

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide in-class support to instructors and students
    • Assist with grading and student feedback
    • Host weekly office hours or check-ins
    • Contribute to a welcoming, inclusive classroom experience

    What You’ll Gain:

    • Paid academic teaching experience
    • Deeper mastery of course topics
    • Stronger communication and mentorship skills
    • Resume-ready experience in technical education

  • National Tech Fellows

    Overview:

    CodePath’s National Tech Fellows lead collaborative learning spaces for hundreds of students across the country. You’ll provide technical support, facilitate breakout groups, and grow as a leader in tech education.

    Application Details:

    Apply for Spring, Summer, or Fall cohorts. Application opens each semester.

    Time Commitment:

    • TIP: 7–11 hrs/week

    • Special Topics: 4.5 hrs/week

    • Plus 8–12 hrs of pre-course training

    Eligibility:

    • 18+ years old

    • Completed a CodePath course or previously served as a TF

    • Currently pursuing or completed a CS-related degree

    • Authorized to work in the U.S. (Not CPT/OPT eligible)

    • Available for all course sessions and live training

    Responsibilities:

    • Support 4–7 students per group in breakout rooms

    • Facilitate collaboration and provide technical guidance

    • Attend all course sessions and trainings

    • Foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment

    What You’ll Gain:

    • Volunteer technical leadership experience

    • Deeper understanding of CS fundamentals

    • National recognition as a peer mentor and educator

    Join a passionate group of students shaping the CodePath community experience. As a Community Leadership Group (CLG) member, you’ll lead initiatives that foster connection, collaboration, and career growth—both virtually and in person.

    Application Details:

    Time Commitment:

    • 3–4 hrs/month
      Volunteer position (Virtual with in-person opportunities)

    Eligibility:

    • CodePath Readiness Level 2 or higher
    • Enthusiastic about building supportive, inclusive student spaces

    Preferred Experience:

    • Excited to strengthen leadership and collaboration skills
    • Committed to helping peers succeed in school and beyond
    • Enjoys creating opportunities for others to thrive

    Responsibilities:

    • Meet 1–2x per month with CodePath and fellow leaders to plan impactful student initiatives
    • Lead community events such as local meetups, study groups, or interest-based virtual hangouts
    • Offer feedback to help shape future community programs

    What You’ll Gain:

    • Hands-on leadership experience
    • Opportunity to launch peer-led community efforts
    • Deeper connection to the CodePath student network

  • Peer Mentors

    Overview:

    The Buddy Program connects experienced CodePath students with newcomers for peer mentorship and support. As a Peer Mentor, you'll provide guidance, encouragement, and practical advice to help new students thrive in their CodePath courses and community.

    Application Details:

    Deadline January 15

    Time Commitment:

    2 hours/month for the semester you participate

    Eligibility:

    • CodePath Readiness Level 4
    • Preferred: Completed 2+ CodePath courses at the 102 level
    • Confident navigating CodePath’s community and platforms

    Responsibilities:

    • Check in with your assigned buddy regularly via Slack, text, or another messaging platform
    • Meet at least 3 times during the semester on Zoom or similar
    • Attend a one-time orientation at the start of the semester
    • Join monthly check-ins with CodePath staff for support and ongoing training

    What You’ll Gain:

    • Real-world mentorship experience
    • Strengthened communication and leadership skills
    • A chance to give back to the CodePath community
