Emerging Engineer Empowerment
CodePath E3 Program: Empowering the Next Generation of Tech Leaders
Computer science students who study with CodePath don’t just graduate—they launch. Alumni are hired at 8× the rate of their peers and report $92K average starting salaries one year after graduation.
The CodePath E3 program accelerates that momentum, connecting students with a nationwide community, industry mentors, and hiring partners.
E3 is powered by collaborations with: Georgia State University & Perimeter College (Atlanta); University of North Carolina Charlotte & Johnson C. Smith University (Charlotte); Florida International University & Miami Dade College (Miami).
THE POWER OF THREE
This is how we illuminate a career path for our students:

CodePath Courses
At the heart of the CodePath E3 Program are timely courses designed by software engineers in the tech industry. All students are required to take our Technical Interview Prep (TIP) courses, which focus on empowering students to ace technical interviewing and give them a preview of real-world challenges in the industry.
In addition to TIP courses, each CodePath E3 Scholar will complete an elective course sequence in one of the following areas*:
-
Web Development
-
iOS Development
-
Android Development
-
Cybersecurity
*elective courses based on availability
Every class is hands-on, rigorous, and relevant, so you aren't just learning theory, but practicing the skills companies are actively hiring for.

Supportive Community
Every E3 cohort is more than just a class — it’s a community. You’ll connect with peers at your campus and across the country, building friendships, study groups, accountability partners, and networks that last well beyond graduation.
Along the way, CodePath and our employer partners host events that mix learning with fun — from social gatherings and swag drops to employer-led workshops. These touchpoints help you grow your confidence, expand your leadership skills, and build a support system that celebrates your success at every step.

Career Center
Your skills deserve the spotlight, and the CodePath Career Center ensures employers see them. As an E3 Scholar, you’ll unlock tailored programs and resources designed to launch you into a paid internship or full-time role, including:
-
1:1 Career Coaching – Tailored guidance for resumes, interviews, and job search strategy.
-
Networking Access – Direct connections to recruiters and industry professionals.
-
Career Lab + Career Fair – Live prep sessions and employer events, including the Emerging Engineers Summit with 65+ hiring partners.

TAARUNI
Georgia State University, Class of 2024
“CodePath’s E3 program has prepped me for the computer science industry outside of a regular classroom setting; from meeting incredibly supportive mentors to getting coached by industry professionals in one of the many courses offered by CodePath, I’ve grown both from learning as a TIP student and from networking with their career support.”
97% more likely to land a full-time tech role
The numbers are clear—students who engage in a technical internship as an undergraduate are 65% more likely to land a full-time technical role within six months of graduation. That metric improves to 97% if the student completes two technical internships prior to graduation.
The Codepath E3 Program is designed to accelerate the progress of computing students by positioning them to secure one and, in some cases, multiple technical internship opportunities before graduation. This commitment to internship readiness sets students up for success.

FAQs
-
What are the eligibility criteria for being selected to be an E³ Scholar?
An E3 Scholar has completed a CodePath course and is currently enrolled at Georgia State University or Perimeter College in Atlanta, University of North Carolina Charlotte, or Johnson C. Smith University in North Carolina, or Florida International University or Miami Dade College in Miami, and has a minimum of one semester left before completing a degree.
-
Can I take CodePath courses outside my chosen elective pathway?
Yes! All students are welcome to apply for enrollment in any CodePath course. CodePath E3 Scholars are given priority admission.
-
Do I have to become a CodePath E³ Scholar to enroll in CodePath courses?
Not-for-credit: Anyone can apply to enroll in CodePath Connected Classroom (not-for-credit) online courses. These courses have limited availability, however, and students in the CodePath E3 Program are given priority admission.
For-credit: All students who meet the course prerequisites are eligible to enroll in CodePath courses offered for credit at their college or university. If these courses are full, priority is given to students participating in the CodePath E3 Program.
-
Is this a paid opportunity?
While E3 itself isn’t a paid position, we’re here to help you get paid through internships, fellowships, and employer pathways that convert to offers. Scholars also receive access to E3-only financial aid and leadership opportunities—both paid and volunteer—so you can build experience, confidence, and community along the way.
-
Am I guaranteed an internship/job offer if I join the CodePath E³ Program?
While we can’t guarantee you’ll land particular job and internship offers, actively engaging in the CodePath E3 Program makes you the optimal candidate that our corporate partners are looking for, thus greatly improving your chances.
-
What happens if I don’t complete a required CodePath E³ Program course or don’t complete it successfully?
The most important thing is communication with the CodePath Community Engagement Manager, who can help you create a customized journey through the CodePath E3 Program. They will work with you to find options to meet the program requirements, all oriented toward helping you find and land internships and job opportunities. The Program also provides peer resources, like study groups and mentorship, to help ensure your success. Successful completion of the courses in the CodePath E3 Program Course sequence is a requirement to remain a CodePath E3 Scholar.
Courses offered for credit at your college or university will be governed by the school’s normal policies around grading and receiving college/university credit. -
Am I required to take CodePath classes to be part of the CodePath E³ Program?
Yes—the only path into E3 is completing a CodePath course at a partner school. After you pass, you’ll be welcomed into E3 with full access to coaching, community, and employer programming. Not enrolled yet? Start by finding your campus and choosing a course.

DAVID AWOGBEMILA
Software Engineering Intern, Google
Howard University
"The focus on hands-on activities and real-life scenarios made for an awesome learning experience. I appreciated how the course was structured in a way that reflected the nature of Cybersecurity."

ANGELA MEI LI
Engineer, LG Electronics
CUNY Baruch College
"I’ve always been fascinated with the hackers' world. It was lucky of me, against many other applicants, to be accepted into this course. Although it could be a bit challenging without prior basic knowledge, the lectures are quite informative. Every week we get to explore new topics and hacking concepts with practice. I believe some problems are close simulations of real-world scenarios. To anyone pursuing a career path in Cybersecurity, this course truly aligns with your passion."

ZAVIER BEROLO
Software Engineer Program Intern, J.P. Morgan Chase & Co
CUNY Baruch College
"For my cohort specifically, I am very happy that I am learning essentially first-hand what "hacking" really is including cybersecurity fundamentals. Also, the teachers have been amazing and have gone the extra-mile to help me and the other classmates countless amounts of times already."

ABIGAIL LEE
Morgan State University
“CodePath's cybersecurity program was a life changing opportunity for me. I learned so much that would benefit me individually and any organization I become a part of. The weekly classes, labs, and individual/group projects made this experience hands-on and so much fun. The knowledge I gained from this class landed me a Summer 2023 internship, what more could I have asked for?”

Professor and Executive Director Howard West - Google Tech Exchange

"Most HBCU CS Chairs are under-resourced. Even if we had the money, there just aren't enough CS professors. CodePath allows us to connect our students directly to what's being taught in the industry plus increase the number and quality of courses taught for free."
BARUCH SCHIEBER, PH.D.
Professor and Chair, Department of Computer Science, New Jersey Institute of Technology
“CodePath is leveling the playing field. We are not one of the top 10 universities, but with CodePath we can give our students similar opportunities. With CodePath our students are introduced to the state of the art tools that are used in the industry, which may not be covered in other courses.”
ELI ARMSTRONG
Instructor, College of Southern Nevada
“CodePath is filling the gap between school work and the real world. CodePath helps students practice things like teamwork and using Git resources that would be considered dishonest in the academic setting. They’re giving students a real-world technical experience and proof that you actually know how to do the job.”
